As part of Spark Science Centre’s Energy Transitions Artist-in-Residence program I spent my residency focusing on the topic of energy.  Increasingly I became focused on how energy transfers and moves through the world. Any theory or understanding of how energy does also reflects on our understanding of existence and humanity itself.

When a noun is not one thing it could be many things, mutable and effervescent in its forms. I have found energy to be such a noun in my effort to get to know it since November. The great thing about it is that it doesn’t seem to disappear, it just can’t be annihilated. It just takes another form, pushes out to another matter. As someone who was briefly enamored with the idea of a perpetual motion machine, my affections have since passed to energy itself.
